Our expedition kicks off with two days of shorter downwinders, allowing us to acclimate and relish the sheer beauty of Brazil’s coastal splendor. Picture-perfect landscapes await as we embark on an unforgettable escapade along the Brazilian coast.
Day 1: Jericoacoara to Tatajuba (19 KM)
Our inaugural day introduces us to the perfect kite conditions southwest of Jericoacoara, steering clear of the towering Duna do Por do Sol dune. Glide over mirror-smooth waters amid gentle waves, passing Guriú’s river mouth with its exquisite blend of shallow river waters and crashing ocean waves—a haven for both freestylers and admirers of nature’s wonders.
Day 2: Tatajuba to Maceió (35 KM)
Continuing our expedition, we traverse shallow waters and gentle waves, encountering a few fishermen as we make our way to Barra Grande—a hidden gem nestled along the coast. Revel in the untouched beauty and embrace the allure of this undiscovered kiting paradise.
Day 3: Maceió to Bitupita to Barra Grande (55 KM)
The journey unfolds with a mesmerizing 43-mile stretch, unveiling the picturesque shores of Maceió and the tranquility of Praia das Curimãs. Our day culminates at the luxurious Pousada BGK in Barra Grande, where kites soar against the backdrop of captivating views.
Day 4: Barra Grande to Delta das Américas (75 KM)
Bid farewell to Barra Grande as we venture towards Delta das Américas, navigating carefully around reefs and suburbs, soaking in the beauty of Praia da Pedra do Sal’s iconic lighthouse. The day concludes at Pousada Paraíso das Canárias, marking the end of another unforgettable leg of our journey.
Day 5: Play at the beautiful lagune of Macapá
Today, we embark on a brief downwind journey to Macapá, where one of the most stunning and pristine flatwater lagoons awaits. This is the perfect spot to practice or learn new freestyle tricks. After a delightful day at the lagoon, we’ll return to Barra Grande for a delicious meal.
Day 6: Delta das Américas to Tutóia (90 KM)
Prepare for an epic 50-mile kitesurfing odyssey! Traverse pristine, undeveloped beaches, cross estuaries, and savor moments of tranquil kiting along the leeward side of sandbanks. The day culminates at Tutóia beach, landing our kites in front of the remarkable Pousada Jagatá.
Day 7: Downwind to Amor do Arpoador
After a leisurely morning, we embark on a brief downwind journey amidst the captivating mangroves, venturing towards the secluded and stunning Amor do Arpoador. During high tide, this spot transforms into an incredible playground for freestyle enthusiasts, while on the seaside of the sandbank, splendid waves await the avid wave riders among us.
Day 8: Tutóia to Atins (70 KM)
The adventure continues with a 85 km ride to Atins, offering glimpses of freshwater lagoons and awe-inspiring estuaries. Revel in the untamed beauty of Praia dos Tatus before arriving at Paraiso dos Ventos, just steps away from the pristine Atins beach.
Day 9: Atins to Lençóis Maranhenses (50 KM)
Our final day beckons us to explore the mesmerizing lagoons of Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. Glide across open seas before indulging in the unique experience of kiting in crystal-clear freshwater lagoons. An adventure-filled day concludes back in Atins, a perfect end to an extraordinary journey.
